Senior Air Pollution Officer
Working Hours: - 37 Hours Per Week, Monday to Thursday 9.00am to 5.30pm and Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm
Pay Rate: Band 18.03 Per Hour PAYE,
Start date: ASAP until the 31/3/2020

We have an exciting opportunity to recruit to the position of Senior Air Pollution Officer within Public Health.
You must have:-
o Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
o Either, fully qualified Environmental Health Officer, registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board Or, Higher certificate in Food Control and NEBOSH National General Certificate or an equivalent health and safety qualification
o Ability to use specialist equipment, training will be provided
o Knowledge on Air pollution permits
o Knowledge of Environmental Health functions and relevant legislation
o Advance knowledge of the Environmental Health functions, related legislation and codes and practice
o Knowledge of the Divisions' administrative and support systems
o Understanding of equality, Quality and Customer Care Policies and Procedures
o Maintaining expertise in an area of specialism on behalf of the Environmental Health Service
o Good interpersonal skills
Must be able to: -
o Travel around the borough of Sandwell to various locations of Sandwell
o Act as an Enforcement Officer
o Work flexibly as part of a team and on own initiative
o Communicate with individuals from all social and intellectual levels
o Work with local communities, voluntary groups, businesses and public-sector Officers across the Sandwell partnership.
o Understand and interpret complex legislation
o Organise oneself in the face of conflicting demands and priorities and working effectively under pressure
o A commitment to the principles of customer focussed quality public services.
