Description
NHS Ealing CCG and NHS Harrow CCG would like to invite suitably experienced and capable providers in the provision of a Community Ophthalmology Service for patients across Ealing and Harrow.
There is an existing Community Ophthalmology Service in place which will reach the end of its contract term by late September 2019 which the CCGs would like to re-commission.
The intention is to offer a contract for 3 years (with the option of 1 extension of up to 2 years), with a new service commencing from October 2019.
NHS Ealing Clinical Commissioning Group (the "Contracting Authority" acting on behalf of NHS Ealing and Harrow CCGs) is offering a contract to the successful Bidder to provide a high quality, patient-centred community ophthalmology service on the CCG's behalf.
The contract authority is seeking to:
1 Deliver improved access to eye care to patients with eye conditions
2 Provide care closer to people's homes, in a community environment
3 Deliver high quality specialist services that support patients to get the right care, first time
4 Support the education and up-skilling of GPs and optometrists, to conduct better ophthalmic diagnosis and condition management in primary care
5 Offer a better value service for the NHS through more efficient use of resources
