Description
Language training and examination services play a critical role in ensuring that officers from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and across Her Majesty's Government (HMG) have the appropriate level of foreign language skills. This is to enable them to operate confidently and effectively to help fulfil HMG's objectives and project and enhance the UK's global influence overseas.
Officers use their language skills in a variety of contexts such as engaging with politicians, dealing with local authorities and officials, speaking to businesses, talking to students, negotiation, giving speeches and media interviews, engaging on social media, reading newspapers and understanding broadcasts.
We expect this opportunity will be of interest to providers of language training, including universities, in a large number of languages, Centres of Excellence that specialise in one or several languages, and providers of online testing or examinations services including but not limited to those with existing capability in online language proficiency testing.

INFORMATION ON SUPPLIER ENGAGEMENT SESSION
The Contracting Authority will be holding a Supplier Engagement Day on 22/10/2020. The supplier engagement will take place in two parts.
Firstly, a forum session will take place from 09:30-10:30 BST, 22/10/2020. The event will take place online using Microsoft Teams with joining instructions provided following registration. The forum session will offer a chance to brief suppliers on our requirements and procurement approach, along with an opportunity for supplier questions. Suppliers that wish to attend this forum session should register their interest and confirm their planned attendees with Michelle.Dilkes@fcdo.gov.uk before 17:00 BST, 16/10/2020. (Please note that we are limiting attendance of the forum session to two individuals per supplier).
Secondly, we are offering optional 1-1 meetings on a first come-first served basis, during the following slots on 22/10/2020: 10:30-12:00; 13:00-15:00; 15:30-17:00. These 1-1 meetings will take place online using Microsoft Teams with joining instructions and timings provided following registration. The 1-1 meetings are an opportunity for a more in-depth discussion about requirements and supplier ideas or suggestions. Suppliers that wish to attend a 1-1 meeting should register their interest, along with a preferred slot and planned attendees, with Michelle.Dilkes@fcdo.gov.uk before 17:00 BST, 16/10/2020. (Please note that we are limiting attendance in optional 1-1 meetings to two individuals per supplier). Subject to the volume of supplier interest, more 1-1 meeting dates/slots may be added in w/c 26/10/2020.
