Description
Public Health England (PHE) is seeking to procure a Digital Retinal Scanner for use in its National Infection Service laboratory (NIS) to perform optical coherence tomography (OCT).
Optical coherence tomography (a specialist assessment of the eye requiring analysis of the ocular health of a living subject.
The equipment will be used to perform OCT in anaesthetised subjects. Therefore, the proposed equipment must meet all mandatory requirements listed below.:
1. The OCT instrument must be able to be used on an unconscious subject (i.e. it cannot require subject co-operation as many devices do).
2. The OCT instrument must be able to be used by being fixed above the subject whilst they are laying recumbent.
3. The OCT instrument must be light and portable for use in a busy and restricted space.
4. The instrument must be able to create 3D/En Face analysis of the retina to assist macular degeneration.
5. The instrument must provide retinal, optical disk, retinal nerve fibre layer, ganglion cell complex and anterior segment scanning to provide an adaptable approach to the research requirement (health ageing).
6. The system must enable serial sampling in order to follow the time course of degeneration of ocular health over time.
7. The interface must be easy to use and enable data download onto PHE servers.
If you feel you can meet all above requirements or would like more information, please contact Dhavan.Abiyani@phe.gov.uk
