Description
Northumberland County Council (the Authority) with support from The Maltings (Berwick) Trust Limited (the End user of the facility ) is seeking to procure external professional services to support it in designing and cost managing the refurbishment and remodelling of internal elements of Berwick Barracks, Berwick Upon Tweed in Northumberland known as The Transition Works - Berwick Barracks (the project).
Services are required from RIBA stages 1-7:
1. Preparation and Briefing
2. Concept Design
3. Spatial Co-ordination
4. Technical Design
5. Manufacturing and Construction
6. Handover and Close Out
7. The refurbishment and remodelling works will be procured separately
Advance Northumberland, a regeneration company owned by the Authority, will Project Manage the delivery of the development and support the consultancy procurement exercise.
The services required are being procured by way of two specific Lots:
• Lot 1- Cost Manager, Employers Agent and Principal Designer - a quantity surveying service that will advise on all aspects of cost management throughout each of the RIBA stages.
• Lot 2- Architect led design team to include, Architect, Civil and Structural Engineer, Mechanical and Electrical Services and Planning for RIBA Stages 2-7.
Tenderers can only bid for one Lot. The successful tenderer for each Lot will be combined to create the full multidiscipline design team, to be led by the winning Architect within Lot 2.
