Description
Facilitation Workshops
The planned activity for January is in three parts, as follows:
1. A series of up to three externally-facilitated sessions for our SLT and Extended Leadership Team (which incorporates SLT and Directors):
a. One session with SLT members to focus on our new Strategy and to explore further what it means for our work, addressing contestation and consensus, airing any concerns or issues, and starting to define the strategic narrative. We anticipate this will be delivered on the afternoon of Tuesday 14 January.
b. One session with the Extended Leadership Team to enable them to explore their understanding of the strategy and any conflict, consensus and to prepare them to effectively engage with the cluster workshops, exhibit strong leadership qualities, and create an enabling and co-creation environment for attendees. This session will likely be delivered early w/c 13 January.
c. One session with the Extended Leadership Team to refine the strategic narrative what as leaders do we need to do, and how do we need to behave to ensure we consistently promote and take forward the strategic narrative. From this define the agreed strategic narrative and how we will in our own words be able to describe this internally and externally. This session will be delivered later in January.
2. A series of up to ten externally-facilitated workshops for our people:
a. One for each of the seven identified clusters (structural groups within the organisation). For the larger clusters, we may require two separate workshops.
b. Anyone can attend any workshop (so this could mean very large-scale workshops).
c. People can attend multiple workshops.
d. The purpose of the workshops is three-fold:
i. To allow people to talk through the thinking so far on a cluster.
ii. To allow people to think about, and plan, the work of a cluster in relation to the ambitions in Ofwat's new strategy (i.e. what will cluster X do to deliver the strategy/ what does the strategy mean for cluster X?).
iii. To give people some insight into the cluster to inform a preferences exercise at the end of January.
3. Supporting engagement activities to help people to understand what each cluster is likely to be doing and how they might fit (see a range of options below). This is not part of this tender and will be led in-house. See image that follows.
