Description

NHS South of England Procurement Services, acting on behalf of Health Education England (the Commissioner) are commencing a tender for the delivery of a Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescribing (CEPIP) Programme for HE London and the South East.

The CEPIP programme delivers a GPhC-accredited Pharmacist Independent Prescribing module (IP), blended with enhanced clinical content including clinical health assessment and diagnostics. CEPIP offers the 'hands on' training opportunities to produce the pharmacist of the future - a practitioner with advanced skills to confidently and competently manage patients with health assessment, diagnostic and clinical examination skills comparable with that of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.

• The course will be up to 12 months duration and open to Pharmacists practising in London and South East in NHS acute and mental health hospitals, including those employed by community pharmacy and undertaking HEE recognised cross-sector Foundation Pharmacist training programmes.
• The course will award a (Level 7) Postgraduate Certificate (60 credits), reflecting an extended curriculum (see below) and providing a suitable background to support further studies for higher awards.
• The course will grant a GPhC accredited Independent Prescribing accreditation upon completion.
• The course recognises and supports pharmacists working in both specialist and generalist roles
• The course will provide an enhanced practical experience in diagnostics and health assessment; aligned to the Advanced Practice pathway and beyond the curriculum set by GPhC for the existing IP module.
• The course content and credit may be suitable for RPL (previously APEL) onto existing (London and South East) Advanced Practice training courses.
There is a fixed price for the provision of CEPIP.
• Courses delivered from a London site: £2,750 per trainee.
• Courses delivered from sites outside of London: £2,550 per trainee.
These prices are non-negotiable.
The contract value will be a maximum envelope of £1,237,500 (inclusive of VAT) for three years.

This is a breakdown of £412,500 per annum, inclusive of any VAT applicable.
