Description

Arden & GEM CSU on behalf of NHS England - Specialised Commissioning would like to notify all potential bidders about a market engagement process between 24th April 2017 and 19th May 2017 and its intent to procure: 1. PET-CT Services; and 2. The supply of tracers for PET-CT Services via two separate procurements.

• The PET-CT Phase II procurements will relate to those PET-CT services not encompassed by the Phase I procurement and are expected to commence in late June / early July 2017.

• Each procurement will consist of eleven lots and the lots will be geographically defined. The procurements will include limits on the maximum number of lots / activity awarded to a single bidder.

• The procurement for tracer supply is anticipated to utilise the Open procedure, whilst the procurement for PET-CT Services is anticipated to utilise a bespoke procedure under Regulations 74 to 76 - the 'light touch' regime.

• The contracts awarded via each procurement are expected to have an initial term of seven years, with an option for NHS England to extend for a further three years.

• The PET-CT activity to be included within the Phase II procurements accounts for circa 50% of the total PET-CT activity in England. The modelled number of scans per lot varies between circa 2,000 and 12,000 in year one.

• It is currently anticipated that the PET-CT Services contract will utilise the NHS Standard Contract and the tracer supply contract will be a sub-contract to the PET-CT Services contract.

• Prior to commencing the procurements, Arden & GEM CSU on behalf of NHS England Specialised Commissioning would like to receive feedback from interested organisations regarding the terms they would expect to see in a subcontract for the supply of tracers between an organisation manufacturing the tracers and an organisation providing PET-CT services.

• Feedback is welcomed from both providers of PET-CT services and suppliers of tracers. This is likely to be the only opportunity for potential suppliers to provide input in respect of the subcontract terms. If your organisation is prepared to participate in this market engagement, please email your organisation's and contacts details to: mark.perkins@nhs.net

• Once you have confirmed your willingness to participate, a short briefing note and questionnaire will be provided for completion and return on or before 19th May 2017.
