Description
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. Our scope of the works includes 15 viaducts, 5 km of green tunnels, 22km of road diversions, 81 bridges and around 30 million cubic metres of excavation.
EKFB are looking for a competent contractor to provide the power system to the portal building .
The portal building electrical distribution system shall have 100% redundancy in the form of Source A and Source-B for the LV main distribution as per the HS2 electrical design standards. The A & B transformers shall serve respective LV main switchboards. LV main Switchboards are placed in dedicated LV A & B switch rooms for improved security of supply.
A cable inter-connection has been provided between the two LV main switchboards as a bus coupler. In the event of an interruption of supply to one of the incoming HV supplies, the entire building design load can be supported from only one incoming HV supply and transformer. In normal operation, each LV main switchboard shall serve approximately 50% of the power demand. An electrical, electronic and mechanical interlock shall be provided to prevent the cable link circuit breaker from being closed when it is not safe to do so.
