Description
Towards the end of 2020, the government launched the Kickstart Scheme, funded through the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and aimed at providing six month paid work placements specifically for 16-24-year-old who are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long term unemployment. Young people have been disproportionally impacted by the challenges of the past year. Government figures show that a record 538,000 under-25s claimed Universal Credit in lockdown and around 700,000 young people are set to leave education and enter the job market this year.
Historic England is seeking to appoint an external organisation to deliver a Wrap Around Skills and Development Training Programme for our Kickstart Gateway to deliver consistent, high quality employment support to individuals employed on work placements through the scheme.
