Description

The University has identified a requirement for a Multi Use Games Area at our St Peters Campus to promote fitness, well-being and inclusion.

This specification forms the Employers Requirements as defined under the terms of the contract and the location of the games area will be as identified on the contract drawings.

Contractors Proposals

As part of the tender submission the contractor will provide a full specification that complies with the Employers Requirements, together with an itemised breakdown of costs.

Any enhancements to the proposal should be identified as variations that could be considered by the authority. Similarly costs savings should also be identified

Programme

The authority requires the work on site to be completed within 6 weeks.

CDM Regulations

The project is currently not deemed notifiable under the CDM Regulations 2015, however the contractor will be expected to take on the duties of the Principal Contractor.

Should the contract period be agreed at more than 6 weeks then the authority will appoint a Principal Designer, or elect to carry out the duties themselves.

Electrical Contractor

The authority has a list of preferred electrical contractors appointed to a framework and it would preferred that one of these contractors is appointed to carry out any electrical works

Marine Environment

The contractor shall note that proposed location of the Multi Use Games Area is alongside the River Wear adjacent to the coast which is deemed as and aggressive coastal environment.

All external metalwork must suitable for such and environment and/or have a suitable coating that will last for a minimum of 10 years with no maintenance

Contract Terms & Conditions

It is proposed to use the JCT Design and Build form of contract for this project, full details will be provided as part of the tender package.
