Description
The successful Supplier will be required to provide catering services for The Wellington College Academy Trust. The estimated contract value is in the region of 500 000 GBP net per annum. The contract will initially be for a period of 3 years with the option to extend for up to 2 years by mutual consent.
The Wellington Academy has been open since 2009 and is proud of its aspirational and inclusive educational offer. 2015 and 2016 were their best and second best results ever for both GCSE and 6th Form. They became a Multi Academy Trust in September 2014 at the same time as opening Wellington Primary Academy.
The Academy offers an education day and boarding pupils and they operate both primary and secondary schools, with pupils from all over the world.
The Academy's location means that service families are a significant element of our catchment and the Academy is proud to be the key point of military / civilian integration in the area. However, the Academy also serves all elements of the community, including the most vulnerable, and they are proud for their recent track record of success in this regard.
The vision for education at the Academy has been inspired by their sponsor, Wellington College: they believe in a strong extra-curricular and pastoral provision to complement academic excellence. They have recruited talented and well qualified staff who provide both high expectations in the classroom and the pastoral care that allows their students to flourish.
The facilities and resources are second to none in the area.
Catering services range from day pupil retail services, primary pupil breakfast and lunch, to boarding meals 7 days a week. The Academy also currently provides lunches to 2 local schools.
Further details are available in the procurement documents.
