Description
Safety Centre is Cheshire Fire Authority's safety and lifeskills education centre, located in Lymm just outside Warrington. We offer a number of learning programmes to teach schools and community groups ways of staying safe at home, online, on the roads and whilst out and about. Our visitors 'learn about safety by experiencing risk' (LASER), a methodology advocated by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and academically proven to encourage safer decision-making. Learning takes place in four themed zones, carefully designed to be realistic and simulate a host of hazards that visitors might experience in different environments. Paragon Creative designed and installed many of the centre's interactive and scenic features. Piranha Creative provided audio-visual installation in our meeting and conference spaces. Paragon have since installed one or two other interactive features in the learning zones. Paragon have also provided maintenance services for their installations by means of a monthly service visit, emergency call out arrangement and annual deep clean. Unfortunately, the company ceased trading in summer 2019. Some of their former technicians, who designed many of the features, have provided ad hoc maintenance and repair visits in the interim. Piranha Creative currently provide an emergency call out and repair service for the equipment they installed. General daily cleaning of non-interactive spaces is provided by Cheshire Fire Authority's cleaning contractor. Cheshire Fire Authority are seeking to award a contract to a company or companies in two separate lots, reflecting our operational need: 1. to maintain and repair interactive features, lighting and scenery; and 2. to maintain and repair audio-visual equipment. Our requirements are set out in detail in the Specification attached as a Word document to this ITT.
