Description

The Thames Estuary Growth Board, PLA and other partners intend to commission a piece of work to assess the strength of the business case for increasing use of the river by light freight. We will be active partners in the delivery of your work giving you access to data, contacts and background information. The work is intended to quantify the economic, environmental and social benefits of using the river for freight and to map out the end to end process by which commercial providers can go about this. The work will also inform whether there is a case to Government for public investment or additional policy support to create the conditions for a light freight market to develop in its formative stages. Finally, this work will also aim to identify the key origin and destination sites with the greatest potential for light freight.
