Description

Evaluation of a 12-month pilot of media attendance at 3 family courts. Utilising data analysis, research interview quantitative and qualitative methods.
The President of the Family Division published his Transparency Review in October 2021. This review concluded that there was to be a major shift in the operation of the Family Courts to increase transparency, whilst protecting the confidentiality of children and families. The PFD established the Transparency Implementation Group to manage the implementation of the recommendations within five discreet subgroups. This request for funding is for group 1 (Media attendance and reporting group). The main aim of this group is to establish 3x 12 months pilots at selected courts, for accredited media representatives and legal bloggers to attend and report on family cases.
