Description

The scope of the contract is to design, manufacture, supply, deliver, install and commission, subject to the performance specifications a superconducting wiggler system detailed below.

1. A superconducting (multipole) wiggler (SCW) conforming to the magnetic specifications.
2. A cryostat housing the SCW at its operating temperature conforming to the mechanical and vacuum specifications.
3. UHV adapters to allow the SCW to fit into either straight 12 or straight 15. To be confirmed at Preliminary Design Review as existing equipment may be used.
4. A 3-point mount support stand conforming to the mechanical specifications. The stand shall allow adjustment of up 10mm in all three principal axes.
5. All electronics required for quench protection, magnet and current lead self protection and operating interlocks. Signal interfaces to DLS control system.
6. All cabling and connections to DLS services as defined.
7. Installation and commissioning of the system at DLS for SAT
8. Helium transfer siphon (if included in the cryostat design).
9. Sufficient spare parts with delivery times >6weeks to guarantee operation of the system with minimum down-time for a period of at least 2 years from the date of final acceptance
