Description

The Department for Education requires a suitably experienced Contractor to express their interest to tender for refurbishment works required for the opening of two Reception Year classes in September 2020, for 60 students. The spaces needed to satisfy this early opening are:

• Entrance Lobby
• 2 no. 68m2 classroom, with area for Cloaks
• 2 no. Early Years no. toilets
• Staff Room and Staff kitchen
• Cleaner's store and Circulation.
• Temporary Head's Office / Admin. Area.

Externals:
• Reception Play Area (as per available area)
• Ramp and steps to rear playground area to the South
• Bin Storage for 3 no. 360 lt. wheelie bins.

All these spaces were achieved within the existing plan form of the building, with the need for demolition being restricted to the East side of this wing where currently Laundry and Storage spaces shall be converted to the necessary spaces listed above. The fact that this area is served by water supply and drainage services assists to achieve the intended remodelling.


The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: qualitative assessment (50%) / quantitative assessment (50%).
