Description
The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) is looking to procure to procure a technical advisor (TA) to carry out further development and refinement of existing 0D, 1D and 2D hydrodynamic models of the Mersey Estuary and Liverpool Bay for the purpose of assessing potential tidal range energy schemes (barrages and lagoons). This will be accomplished by reviewing existing models and results as well as the available calibration and validation data with the scoping of additional field surveys if required. The existing models will be developed further and re-calibrated into two categories of models "assessment models" and detailed models" for investigating a long list and short list of scheme options respectively. The detailed models will be used to carry out hydro-environmental impact assessments which will need to comply with DCO/HRA requirements. The work is expected to run over 5 months.
