Description
The successful tenderer will be required to provide cleaning services in the South West Bristol Cooperative Learning Trust's member schools.
Initially this is solely at the following location: Ashton Park School, Bristol, BS3 2JL - currently there are 1 197 pupils and 220 teaching and support staff at Ashton Park.
The Trust expects the successful tenderer to evidence, through their bid, how they shall support and complement its Cooperative values.
The South West Bristol Co-operative Learning Trust aims to support young people and their families to raise standards of achievement, to raise aspirations, to provide additional motivating experiences and to challenge all learners to achieve more than they ever thought possible. We aim to share the expertise, views, expectations, resources and experience of all stakeholders, including young people, parents and carers, teaching and support staff, and members of the community.
The cleaning contract being offered will commence on 1.1.2017 for an initial period of 3 years, concluding on 31.12.2019, with the opportunity to extend for a further period at the discretion of the governing body. This is the first time the market has been tested for the in-house cleaning service.
This contract will be fixed price in nature with the successful contractor guaranteeing both the number of input hours to the contract and the quality of cleaning provision, which includes external window cleaning twice per annum.
We are seeking a suitably experienced contractor who has current experience of working within the secondary school or HE/FE market place, ideally with a strong operational base within the Bristol or South West area, thus allowing for both adequate contract support and operational flexibility that is to be delivered to support the contract as and when required moving forwards into this contract term.
The scope of the contract covers all cleaning provision within the adjacent School buildings. The successful contractor will be expected to deliver a concise and detailed method of management reporting at the end of each month thus updating the senior management team within the School on the contract performance. The school is open for 195 academic and inset days, the sports centre for 362 days. There are significant and growing evening and weekend lettings requirements.
The projected cost of cleaning for the current year is circa 145 000 GBP for all buildings on the campus at Ashton Park School, however it is believed that through equipment and cleaning material innovation and the effective recruitment, training and supervision of cleaning staff there is opportunity for improvement. The focus of our requirement is equally for a high quality cleaning service, fully compliant to the agreed specification at all times.
Please Note: Further properties may be added to the contract during the tender process and during the life of the contract.
