Description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (NHS Arden and GEM CSU) on behalf of Birmingham and Solihull CCG are inviting suitably qualified providers who are capable of delivering primary medical services for the following lots in Birmingham;
Lot 1: Nechells Practice, Nechells, Birmingham
Lot 2: Kingshurst Medical Practice, Kingshurst, Solihull.
Lot 3: FirstCare Practice, Balsall Heath, Birmingham.
Lot 4: Oakleaf Medical Practice, Washwood Heath, Birmingham
As a result of this procurement exercise an agreement will be established with the successful bidder(s) for a period of 7 years [with the commissioner having the option to extend the contract for up to a further 3 years].

Lot 1: Nechells Practice:
The practice has a raw list of 4,802 patients and a weighted list size of 5,248.87 patients (July 2019). Nechells Practice is located in Nechells, Birmingham. The practice is based in a health centre that is managed by NHS Property Services. Birmingham and Solihull CCG wish to procure Primary Medical Services, as the current contract is due to expire on 31.03.2020.

The practice may have an increased raw list size of approximately 1500 patients due to a potential dispersal of practice list co-located in the same premises. This decision is soon to be confirmed by another CCG responsible for this practice.

Lot 2: Kingshurst Medical Practice
The practice has a raw list of 6,635 patients and a weighted list size of 6,474.07 patients (July 2019). Kingshurst Medical Practice is located in Kingshurst, North Solihull. The premises are owned by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council. Birmingham and Solihull CCG wish to procure Primary Medical Services as the current contract is due to expire on 31.3.2020.

Lot 3: FirstCare Practice
The practice has a raw list size of 6,249 patients and a weighted list size of 5,993.29 patients (July 2019). FirstCare Practice is located in the Balsall Heath area and the building is managed by NHS Property Services. Birmingham and Solihull CCG wish to procure primary care services as the current contract is due to expire on 3.8.2020.

Lot 4: Oakleaf Medical Practice
The practice has a raw list size of 9,821 patients and a weighted list size of 9,246.11 patients (July 2019). Oakleaf Medical Practice is located in Washwood Heath, Birmingham. The practice is housed in a CHP/LIFT building and is shared with a Walk In Centre, another GP practice and community services. The Commissioners are only re-procuring the services provided by Oakleaf Medical Practice. Birmingham and Solihull CCG wish to procure Primary Medical Services as the current contract is due to expire on 8.8.2020.
