Description

The purpose of this project is the review, re-design and replacement of the current Radian WAN infrastructure. A considerable amount of the networking hardware is currently end of life or out of support, and not standardised across make/model/functionality, increasing management overhead.

Radian is currently going through a digital transformation programme and therefore require a fast, flexible and secure network which enables the new technology that we are implementing.

The current network (see Appendix B) is one that has grown mainly by acquisition or merger and as such has been 'bolted' together and grown organically rather than designed. Radian currently uses multiple providers for connectivity and again this should be reviewed as part of this project to ensure best fit and best value.

As part of the review, replacing, renewing or extending the (Multiprotocol Label Switching) MPLS to other sites is also a requirement. Radian are looking to use a SD-WAN approach to reduce 3rd party responsibilities but all technologies will be considered.

Wireless connectivity is out of scope for this project, but ease of integration and support should be a consideration in any design or proposal. Radian are not currently looking at 3G/4G/5G, however this could be a consideration for remote sales offices in the future.
