Description
The National Archives is looking to contract with an experienced, multi-discipline Principal Contractor who can fulfill the requirements of CDM (Construction, Design and Management) and is able demonstrate relevant experience of working within an operational staff/public Government secure site.
This requirement is to deliver the following:
The re-purposing of approx. 400m2 of existing ground floor office space within The National Archives' Q1 building to accommodate existing staff and 3rd party contractor digitisation services.
and
The re-purposing of 1,100m2 of existing basement storage space to create an environment compliant to British Standard BS EN 16893 2018 for archive document storage.
Specific works will include:
- Associated building works
- Joinery/carpentry
- Mechanical and Electrical services
- HVAC including environmental control
- Fire alarm and access control
- All final finishes
Due allowances shall be made for Works within an occupied building, including any required out of hours and weekend working to undertake the Works.
This will be a restricted competition, with an envisaged minimum of 3 and an envisaged maximum of 5 potential suppliers being invited to respond to the full tender subsequent to assessment of completed pre-qualification questionnaires.
