Description

The Department of Health and Social Care (the Authority) is seeking a University/ Higher Education Institute which can award UK degrees (i.e. a body recognised by the UK authorities as capable of awarding a UK degree) to deliver a two-year part-time Masters course In Health and Social Care policy.
The principal requirement is a Masters in Health and Social Care Policy. The ability to offer a postgraduate Diploma to participants of the course who are unable to commit to completing a Masters dissertation would be desirable, but not essential.
It is envisaged that there will be three cohorts of participants, with the possibility of two further contract extensions, each for one further cohort. The first cohort will commence their studies in autumn 2019. The third cohort is expected to complete their studies in autumn 2023 (with the exception of any individuals for whom an interruption of studies has been agreed).
Most participants nominated under the contract will be policy staff employed by the Department of Health and Social Care, including participants in the department's new leadership development scheme, Fast Track. It is likely that others will be participants employed by the department's arm's length bodies.
The minimum size of each cohort under the contract will be 15 participants. At this stage, it is envisaged that the maximum cohort size will be 30 participants, but this number could rise to 40 participants.
There is no expectation that access to the course should be limited to the participants nominated by the department.
