Description

Health Education England (HEE) is responsible for providing education, training and personal development to every member of Health & Social Care - without a knowledgeable, skilled and confident workforce there would be no Health & Social Care. In addition, HEE is responsible for the leadership of all healthcare education and training for those employed by the NHS and for those seeking NHS employment. HEE also has statutory obligations for the quality of the services which it funds and for the safety and protection of students and patients.

This tender relates to the provision of a national module for Pre-Registration Nurses (covering all fields of nursing), Trainee Nursing Associates, Registered Nurses and Nursing Associates who have no prior experience of working in general practice but are considering a career in Primary Care/General Practice. This provision will enable growth in the number of registered staff to work in Primary Care/General Practice and provide consistency in training across the country.

Other programmes are available for nurses in Primary Care/General Practice. However, this module is distinctly different and is aimed as either a pre-employment module, or as part of an induction for those already employed in another sector but wishing to move into Primary Care/General Practice. Figure 1 outlines the target audience and where this module is positioned in relation to other programmes that are available upon being employed in Primary Care/General Practice.
