Description
The successful supplier will be required to provide catering services at Great Torrington School.
There are currently 746 students and 87 staff. The number of students for the forthcoming academic year is anticipated to be approximately 807.
The contract covers the scope for the provision of school catering services, including free issue requirements.
Morning service takes place between the hours of 10.50 a.m. and 11.05 a.m.
There is 1 vending machine, an N&W Samba Combi. The client is presently paying a secondary rental and the contract can be terminated by giving 1 month's notice. The machine is situated near to the sports hall in the foyer opposite M6.
There is also an external food provision located within the picnic quad. This is currently open during morning service and provides limited hot and cold food.
Cashless catering is operated using a Live register system, with 2 tills in the dining hall, 1 in the external 'snack shack'. The vending machine is also linked to the system.
The current turnover is approximately 140 000 GBP per year.
There are 3 members of staff in the LGPS and the supplier will need to apply for ABS and a bond. All costs will be that of the supplier.
The contract start date is 1.9.2020, awarded for 3 years with a possible extension of 2 years by mutual consent and on the same terms and conditions as the original contract. The contract will be on a guaranteed price basis for the 3 years.
Please note, the successful supplier will pay a proportion of the consultancy fee on award of each of this contract, which will be to the value of 4 501,00 GBP plus VAT.

The contracting authority will consider variant bids, evaluating them (so far as the variant or the evaluation of the variant is in the opinion of the contracting authority practicable) on the same basis as a conforming bid, but shall not be obliged to accept any such bid in preference to a conforming bid even if the variant bid scores more highly. No variant will be considered unless the bidder simultaneously submits a conforming bid.
