Southampton City Council are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified Service Provider to deliver a Concession for the provision and management of a high quality Christmas Market to be held in the City Centre in November and December 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 with an option for 2023.

The purpose of this notice is to draw attention to a procurement that Southampton City Council intends to commence in November 2019.
It is anticipated that a separate contract notice relating to the supply of the above specified services will be submitted for publication to commence the procurement process.

All service providers should respond only to the contract notice when it is published.

The key objectives of this Procurement is to award to a Service Provider that :
- Include a broad and diverse range of high quality Christmas-themed activities and appropriately decorated market stalls;
- Provide festive displays and entertainment;
- Appeal to people of all age groups.
- Include special features or attractions.
- Promote a positive image of the event and city via integrated marketing communication plans and event branding.
- Appeal to local residents as well as encouraging visitors into the city centre and increasing dwell time.
- Offer new and distinctive reasons to visit each year and be able to demonstrate continuous improvements for the contract term.
- The Market must not focus on or primarily consist of market stalls selling fast foods.

The Current Festival will run from the last week of November to the 23rd December 2018. Any interested parties are welcome to come and view the current festival between these dates if required.

SCC is a public authority within the meaning of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and all correspondence received will be dealt with in accordance with the Act.
The Contracting Authority intends to use the Southampton City eSourcing portal in this procurement exercise.
