Description

The University requests tenders from sufficiently experienced and qualified contractors in order to establish a framework contract for the provision of building works. The objectives is to secure value for money; Streamline the procurement process; Promote a long-term partnership with contractors; Reduce tendering and bidding costs; Eliminate risk of Modern Day Slavery within the supply chain. The estimated value is £18,000,000 over the maximum four (4) years framework duration. The Framework will be established for an initial period of two (2) years(s) with an option to extend for a further periods of one (1) year up to a total of four (4) year(s) in total. It is expected that Lot 1 will be awarded to five (5) contractors and Lot 2 will be awarded to five (5) contractors, as described below. It is intended for the mobilisation/start to commence during September/October 2021 or as otherwise agreed. The Framework Agreement will operate under the Joint Contracts Tribunal Limited 2016 suite of contracts published by Thomas Reuters (Professional) UK Limited, trading as Sweet & Maxwell. The overarching Framework will use the JCT Framework Agreement (FA) 2016 with the Tasks awarded mainly use the Minor Works Building Contracts (MW 2016 and MWD 2016). The projects undertaken within this framework are split into the following cost bands: Lot 1 - Project cost of £0 to £200,000 (estimated yearly value of £755,732) and Lot 2 - Project cost of £200,000 to £1,500,000 (estimated yearly value of £3,703,542). The Framework aims to provide a diverse and resilient contractor service base to meet Employer's requirements. Therefore, Tenderers who bid for both must choose or will be allocated a lot from the evaluation process.
