Description

- GM Connected Wayfinding is an initiative to provide a wayfinding system for Greater Manchester. The ambitions for this proposal extend across the urban environment, across all modes, supporting ease of modal interchange and onward journey planning from the beginning to the end of a journey. Following completion of a design solution progressed by TFGM, Manchester City Council and other stakeholders (initially for Phase 1 - GM Connected), TfGM are now procuring a framework agreement (single supplier) for the supply and installation of the physical products (arrival displays and static totems), to be located at strategic nodes and removal of existing street furniture ('decluttering'). - This framework agreement will have an initial call-off for GM Connected that is intended to deliver Phase 1, and the instruction of other subsequent phases and/or requirements during the term will be subject to funding. A single contractor is to be appointed under the framework with a call-off arrangement, using agreed terms and rates for different phases and elements required over the term of the framework agreement. This will ensure consistency of design and approach.
- The estimated minimum value of estimated supplies and associated works to be instructed is £750k. This is based on the initial requirement for Phase 1 within Manchester city centre between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Victoria, also including Shudehill, Piccadilly Gardens and Manchester Coach Station.
- The upper end of the range of estimated supplies and associated works of £7,500,000 beyond the £750k budget for Phase 1 reflects potential funding that may be obtained for similar provision during the term of the framework, however there is no further detail on other available funding beyond that identified for Phase 1.
- The value of future potential phases and requirements will vary. There is no guarantee given relating to supplies and associated works to be instructed via the framework agreement.
- A maintenance requirement will be included in the call-off arrangement and appropriate rates sought. There is no guarantee given relating to the requirement to be instructed and TfGM reserves the right to progress the award of a framework agreement based on the inclusion of supply, install, 'decluttering' & reinstatement only.
