Description
The successful tenderer will be required to provide cleaning services at The Deepings School.
The contract will commence on 1.8.2016 for an initial period of 3 years, with the opportunity to extend for a further period of 1 + 1 years at the discretion of the governing body.
The Deepings School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school with almost 1 600 students on roll. There are currently 261 students in each year, 7 to 11 and 275 in our Sixth Form. We sit at the heart of The Deepings, a vibrant, growing community in South Lincolnshire and are a member of a family of schools forming part of CfBT Schools' Trust.
We are committed to growing a school campus that provides our students with a world class learning environment. Over recent years we have built a new Sixth Form Centre, Science Centre and Conference Centre. There has been extensive refurbishment across the school site and we have secured funding for a Design, Technology and Art Centre. Major investment in information technology also provides our school community with top class computing facilities and services.
The contract will commence on 1.8.2016 for an initial period of 3 years, with the opportunity to extend for a further period of 1 + 1 years at the discretion of the governing body. This is the first time the market has been tested for the in-house cleaning service. The school has previously invested in specialist cleaning equipment, which shall be available for use by the successful tenderer as required.
This contract will be fixed price in nature with the successful contractor guaranteeing both the number of input hours to the contract and the quality of cleaning provision.
We are seeking a suitably experienced contractor who has current experience of working within the secondary school or HE/FE market place, ideally with a strong operational base within the Peterborough or South Lincolnshire area, thus allowing for both adequate contract support and operational flexibility that is to be delivered to support the contract as and when required moving forwards into this contract term.
The scope of the contract covers all cleaning provision within the adjacent School buildings. The successful contractor will be expected to deliver a concise and detailed method of management reporting at the end of each month thus updating the senior management team within the Academy on the contract performance.
The projected cost of cleaning for the current year is circa 160 000 GBP for all buildings on the campus at The Deepings School, however it is believed that through equipment and cleaning material innovation and the effective recruitment, training and supervision of cleaning staff there is opportunity for improvement. The focus of our requirement is equally for a high quality cleaning service, fully compliant to the agreed specification at all times.
