Description

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council currently has two co terminus contracts with Serco Local Government to provide a range of refuse, recycling, street cleansing and grounds maintenance services including:

Waste Collection (emptying bins, bin stores at flats, assisted collections)
Currently collect recycling (commingled, separate paper, garden waste and refuse)
(Treatment/disposal arrangements for garden and refuse made through Herts County Council)
Street Cleansing (road sweeping, litter picking, emptying of street litter/dog bins, fly-tip clearance)
Grounds Maintenance (grass cuts, hedge cuts, flail cuts, shrub maintenance, bedding planting and maintenance, leaf clearance, welfare grass & hedge cuts)
Ad-hoc support e.g. snow clearance, delivery of new bins etc.

The Contracts with Serco expire at the end of March 2020 and the Council is looking to secure a consultant to assist with the procurement process.
