Description

Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England (North Midlands) is looking to tender Community Dental Services across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw for all services except epidemiology). It is anticipated that the contract shall run from 1st April 2018 for a duration of 3 years with an option to extend up to a further 1 plus 1 years under a PDS contract. The anticipated contract value is £7,773,289 per annum.

The service is expected to provide patient centred clinical services in a primary care setting for patients who are unable to access and obtain routine dental care in a general dental practice setting because of some impairment, disability and/or complex medical condition.

The aim of the Community Dental Service will be to improve the oral health and reduce the oral health inequalities of people in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (excluding Bassetlaw for all services except epidemiology) who have a physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, psychological and/or emotional or social
impairment or disability or more often a combination of these through:
• Providing high quality consultant-led paediatric and special care dentistry to
children and adults. This will include children with more complex dental needs;
• Providing high quality dental care to people from vulnerable groups whose needs may not be accommodated in NHS general dental services.
In addition the service will:
• Deliver the fieldwork for Public Health England's Dental Public Health Epidemiology Programme where commissioned for local authorities.

NHS England North Midlands is keen to obtain feedback from the market and is
inviting suitably qualified providers to respond to a market engagement exercise and would like to invite potential Bidders to a market engagement event taking place on
30th June 2017 in Nottinghamshire 2:00pm - 4:00pm (venue to be confirmed).

Bidders should state in their response to Question ME01 & ME02 of the questionnaire if they would like to request and confirm a place at the market engagement event.
