Description

Red Rocks is a 6-legged cast iron structure, with an aluminium platform. It is approximately 9m from rock level to the top of the platform. It's Admirality List of Lights No is A 3994.33B and it's Lat/Long are: 57o46.95'N, 07o04.48'W. Red Rocks beacon is lit with a sectored LED light. The object of the project is to replace the existing aluminium access ladder, which has been lost due to storms, and extend the existing aluminium platform to accommodate the new ladder. This new project will provide a modified ladder designed to improve its resistance to wave impact and incorporating a Glideloc fall arrest system. In addition the existing handrail shall require to be altered to suit the new ladder and a new handrail section fitted around the platform extension.
