Description
The Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Cheshire requires a high-quality Youth Engagement Service to be delivered whereby young people are given a voice in policing. The PCC is seeking to commission a Youth Engagement Service across Cheshire.
The list of services below is not intended to be exhaustive but shall include:
• To support, advise and assist the PCC in engaging with young people aged 14-25 years, giving them a voice in policing.
• Establish an effective Youth Commission that is representative of young people and includes those who are traditionally harder to reach from communities across Cheshire.
• Recruit, train and support young people who wish to become members of the Youth Commission or be involved in the project in other ways.
• To enable young people to undertake peer to peer research, analysing and recording their findings.
• To ensure all young people in Cheshire are able to share their views on what matters most to them.
• To recruit a team of Youth Ambassadors dedicated to communities across Cheshire.
• To arrange, facilitate and evaluate Youth Advisory Group sessions alongside the Constabulary and wider partners, to inform future practice.
• To deliver an annual showcase event whereby young people present their findings to the PCC, Chief Constable and wider partners.
• Produce an annual report to summarise findings and make recommendations for future.
• To support the wider work of the PCC and OPCC.
There is no requirement for the Service Provider to have a local office base in Cheshire but the provider must have the necessary equipment to ensure that they can be contactable throughout the project. They must ensure they have sufficient knowledge of the Cheshire geographical area to enable engagement with a diverse range of communities and people.
The contract term is for three [3] years to commence on December 1st 2021 until November 30th 2024. There is an option to extend for a further period of twelve [12] months.
