Description

The Medicine Hub https://ahdb.org.uk/medicine-hub has been developed by AHDB on behalf of industry as a platform to hold centralised medicine data for the ruminant sectors and to enable reporting against industry-agreed targets for responsible antibiotic use https://www.ruma.org.uk/ .

There is a significant challenge to populate the Medicine Hub with data from the ruminant sectors, compared with the pig sector - given the significantly higher number of producers and more fragmented supply chains particularly for beef and sheep

There are four main routes of data entry onto the Hub: -
a) Direct entry of data by individual farmers, for whom the Hub may also serve as a medicines book
b) Uploading individual farm data via commercial farm management software already managing on-farm records
c) Uploading medicine sales data from veterinary practices servicing individual farms
d) Uploading individual farm data from bulk data holders and data processors operating within the supply chain

AHDB wishes to acquire additional resource to facilitate and accelerate data uploads via three of the above routes (b to d). This involves working with a targeted cross-section of software providers, veterinary practices and bulk data holders to achieve successful movement of data onto the Hub.

The work is offered in two lots: -
Lot 1: Facilitating data upload via veterinary practice sales information
Lot 2: Facilitating data upload from information held in farm software or by bulk data holders

Tenderers may bid for any one or both Lots
