Description

UK Biobank is issuing this tender to invite Bids for Cardiac Monitoring: the supply of devices to monitor and record ECG data over a 1-2 week period.

The full tender documents can be downloaded from www.mytenders.co.uk. Completed bids must be submitted though the www.mytenders.co.uk portal.

UK Biobank is currently inviting approximately 100,000 of its participants to visit one of its imaging centres located across the UK to undergo a number of imaging (MRI, DEXA, ultrasound) measures and to participate in a repeat of certain baseline measures (the UK Biobank Imaging Project).

As part of the visit, UK Biobank is interested to obtain longer term (1 to 2 week duration) heart rhythm data on a subset of these participants. UK Biobank is looking for a single supplier that can provide devices & services to enable this project, for the anticipated 3 year duration of the project.

Full details of the services required are included within the specification.

The monitoring solution must be:
- Able to acquire continuous ECG data for a period of 1 to 2 weeks
- Self-contained and include a mechanism or technology to allow the raw ECG trace to be captured and transferred for analysis and ultimately provided to UK Biobank
- Non-invasive (implantable devices will not be considered)
- CE marked (and preferably FDA approved)
- Able to be readily and appropriately sited
- Compact and lightweight
- Comfortable during 'free living': no lifestyle changes must be needed by participants to allow them to use the device
- Waterproof for hygiene purposes (showerproof), including the adhesive which must not come off in water (waterproof & suitable for bathing / swimming would be an advantage)
- Constructed using hypoallergenic materials (e.g. medical grade silicone adhesive), and produce minimal skin irritation over a 2 week period.
