Description
Rykneld Homes Ltd (RHL) is seeking to appoint two contractors to undertake electrical works to approximately 8000 homes that we manage in North East Derbyshire. The works will comprise of a wide range of longer duration repairs, improvements to an existing electrical installation (e.g. New consumer unit, electric shower) and part or whole house rewires. This work will be in both occupied and void properties and will form part of our overall strategy for the electrical assets we are responsible for.
RHL employ a number of electrical staff that undertake our responsive electrical repairs programme, part of our Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Report (DEICR) programme and some of the works sets out in this tender. They do not undertake any whole house rewires in occupied homes.
A sperate contractor working with our in-house team will deliver the (DEICR) programme and some of the works allocated to the successful bidders of this tender will have been identified from the DEICR programme. Other works will form part of our capital programme to improve and upgrade our electrical assets and ensure the safety of our customers and housing stock.
The tender is for two lots of similar value, one for the North area of our district and the other for the South area of our district (see appendix 1) for a plan of the two areas. Each lot will be awarded to a different contractor. Both contractors will also be different from the contractor undertaking the DEICR programme.
One of Rykneld Homes main corporate objectives is to 'Set our customers up to succeed'. We take pride in delivering these values to our customers lives and as such, the quality of workmanship and the resulting finished product of all work is of the highest standard. We expect our chosen contractors to operate with the same exacting ethos.
The contracts are two years in length with potential for a further one-year extension.
