Description

The Centre for Radiation, Chemicals and Environmental hazards, part of Public Health England, has a requirement for a hyper-pure germanium detector and two compatible cooler units. The detector will be optimised for measurements of low-energy gamma-ray emitting radionuclides and for small samples. The detector to be purchased, along with a second detector already in the possession of PHE, need to be cooled to very low temperatures in order to operate and so it will also be necessary to purchase two specialist detector cooler units.
