Description

The Birmingham and Solihull CCGs are looking to appoint suitably qualified provider(s) to provide Community Ophthalmology Services. This requirement will be split into two lots:

- Lot 1 - Minor Eye Conditions Service (MECS) for the Birmingham area; and
- Lot 2 - Community Medical Ophthalmology (CMO) Services for the Birmingham and Solihull area.

It is anticipated that the contract(s) put in place as a result of this process will be for 3 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years at the sole discretion of the Commissioner. Please note that this notice is being placed on behalf of NHS Birmingham CrossCity CCG, NHS Birmingham South Central CCG and NHS Solihull CCG. These organisations are due to formally merge into one organisation on the 1st April 2018 to form Birmingham and Solihull CCG. Any contract(s) awarded as a result of this tender process will therefore be with this entity as opposed to those named on this notice.

The services being procured are Schedule 3 - Social and Other Specific Services and Arden and Greater East Midlands CSU and the Commissioner(s) are bound only by those parts of the Regulations applying to schedule 3 services. As such, the process being used will mirror an open process as per the Light Touch Regime. Full details of the process used is defined in the tender documents.
