Description

HVO (Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil) fuel to power Waste and Highways vehicles/equipment. HVO renewable diesel is a direct replacement for red and white diesel, made for use in on and off-road vehicles and machinery.\r
\r
Derived from certified sustainable raw materials, HVO cuts up to 90% of net CO2 emissions and will benefit LCC's carbon foot print and help towards net zero sustainability targets. There are currently limited alternatives to the use of fossil fuels to power large vehicle such as HGV's, without replacing current vehicles, some of which still have a long shelf life, with highly expensive and un-tested electric alternatives. HVO is a direct drop-in replacement for diesel, meaning LCC can lower carbon emissions quickly and relatively cheaply.\r
\r
Attainment of net zero targets is a vital part of Leicestershire County Councils operational goals and services and use of HVO will help towards that goal.
