Description

As a member of the UK Dementia Platform network, Newcastle University has been expanding its capability in radiochemistry using a GE 3T combined PET-MRI system.

To support the development of Phase II plans, Synthesis and Dispensing Hotcells are required so that an innovative clinical PET imaging programme can begin. Synthesis hotcells will house automated radiochemistry platforms necessary for the production of radiopharmaceuticals, while the Dispensing Hotcell will house a formulation/fractionation dispenser. This development will lead to the production of a range of fluorine-based radiopharmaceuticals that meet the requirements of EU-GMP, and can be administered to patients.
