Description

The Environment Agency wishes to appoint a supplier to update the Wessex Basin Groundwater model, to match the previous level of calibration of the groundwater model and provide a more up to date format for future improvements.
The three main aims of the project are as follows;

- To incorporate any updated understanding & conceptualisation that is not currently represented in the model.
- To update the model time period to 2020 with associated hydrometric and artificial influence data (this will include a complete length of record change to the Rainfall and Potential Evapotranspiration datasets used).
- To convert the model from the current 4R and MODFLOW-96 VKD software to an updated rainfall recharge code (SWAcMod or 4R6) and MODFLOW 6 achieving equal or improved model performance as the existing Wessex Basin Model and utilising the new functionality where appropriate for improved performance.
