Description

The Department for International Trade (DIT) secures UK and global prosperity by promoting and financing international trade and investment, and championing free trade.

DIT is an international economic department, responsible for:
• bringing together policy, promotion and financial expertise to break down barriers to trade and investment, and help businesses succeed;
• delivering a new trade policy framework for the UK as we leave the EU;
• promoting British trade and investment across the world;
• building the global appetite for British goods and services.

DIT is seeking support, during an initial period of three months, for its communications and engagement to businesses and wider stakeholder audiences, with a specific focus on the changes and opportunities brought about by UK's independent trade policy, the new trading environment at the end of the Transition Period, and the global economic response to COVID-19.

The scope of activities include to:

A. Strategy
• examine DIT-commissioned and publicly available polling and insights on public and business attitudes to trade, exports and investment;
• undertake comprehensive review of DIT's communications and engagement plans;
• provide detailed recommendations on strategy, messaging and tactics to optimise existing communications and engagement plans.

B. Stakeholder engagement
• identify full range of stakeholders in key economic sectors affected by trade issues (described above);
• review DIT stakeholder engagement to date;
• prioritise stakeholder engagement activity;
• provide detailed operational plans for engaging target stakeholders and co-ordinating engagement activity;
