Description
1.1 Oxfordshire County Council is seeking to appoint a consultant to update the Oxfordshire Infrastructure Strategy (OxIS) originally approved by the Oxfordshire Growth Board in November 2017.
1.2 The original strategy built on an extensive evidence base review to set out the core projects and investment seen as required to support the sustainable growth of Oxfordshire. It identified and prioritised infrastructure across a range of sectors to support known local plan housing and employment development and outlined where funding was required to help deliver this growth. OxIS has been an important piece of work to support development of subsequent funding bids and agreements, helping to secure funding for schemes through the Housing & Infrastructure Fund (HIF) and the Growth Deal.
1.3 Updating OxIS is part of an overall approach which, recognising the need to plan effectively for a 'post-COVID' world, emphasises that we are planning for the future, making plans and decisions on infrastructure provision that will support Oxfordshire as the local and regional economy recovers and grows for the future.
