Description

The School of Music & Humanities at the University of Huddersfield are proposing to commence provision of a new course in Film and Television production, starting in September 2021.
The School plan to convert an existing property on our estate into new Film studio facilities with attached conferencing facilities. Work to convert the property will commence under supervision of the University's Estates management team. Electrical power supply to the studio area will be terminated at a mains inlet providing a cross over point to a turnkey production lighting solution.
The studio facility shall offer configurable use of space, i.e the use of the full studio, or divided into half or thirds with individual control functionality. Any proposed lighting control solutions will be required to facilitate and support the division of the studio space into two or three individual operational spaces. The aim of the tender is to procure a production lighting solution that supports HD, UHD and virtual production environments with high quality, consistent and calibrated lighting output and meets the demands of modern CMOS and FPGA technologies.
Suppliers are welcome to put a group of companies together for this project. A lead tenderer must be identified at time of submission of the tender response.
The tender is split into two packages with suppliers invited to tender for one or both packages.
The Schools Technical Service Manager and Estates Lead will be available for pre-booked visits to the venue and to answer any questions. Subsequent to the site visit, all RFIs should be addressed by email.
A separate tender has been issued for the main construction (including M&E) works package. The winning bidder(s) for this tender package is required to liaise with the main construction contractor to ensure that the products supplied integrate with any building and service interfaces. Please see the drawings/information in Annex A, which has been extracted from the main construction tender documentation and outlines some of the key information pertinent to this tender exercise, for your viewing. Please disregard any information which is not of use. If you require any further information or guidance relating to the construction element of this project please contact us through the correspondence section on the Intend platform and we will administer your request accordingly.
