Description
The Contracting Body seeks the provision of Nursery and Playscheme services for the children of employees based at our Newport site.
This procurement is being divided into Lots. Suppliers are welcome to bid for either Lot 1, Lot 2 or both Lots. Therefore, the outcome will result in either one or two Contracts depending on whether one or two Suppliers are successful.
The Contract/s will be let for 5 years and 3 months, from 1st June 2018 - 31st August 2023, with the option to extend for a further 2 years, on a +1 +1 basis, reviewed annually.
Lot 1 - Nursery (Requirement A)
The Contracting Body has its own Nursery building situated on-site at Government Buildings, Cardiff Road, Newport, South Wales, NP10 8XG. The Nursery facility has a maximum capacity for 35 children. The Contracting Body wishes to appoint a service provider to provide a high quality Nursery service for pre-school children. It is proposed that the Nursery will be open from 7:30am - 6pm. The Supplier will be responsible for ensuring that the Nursery complies, at all times, with at least the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for Children up to the Age of 12 Years, and all associated legislation and regulations, issued by Welsh Government.
Suppliers bidding on the Nursery requirement will be welcome to visit the site during the tender period. Requests for a site visit should be submitted via the Contracting Body's e-Sourcing portal, In-Tend, only. A mutually agreeable timeslot will then be arranged. Site visits will be permitted during the clarification period, i.e. between 8th February and 23rd February. No visits will be allowed following this.
Lot 2 - Playscheme (Requirement B)
The Playscheme will be a subsidised, 'closed access', holiday Playscheme for children of staff based at the Contracting Body's Newport site. The holiday Playscheme will provide places for children aged between 4 and 12 years old and will operate between 8:30am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday. The Playscheme should be situated in a location convenient to the Contracting Body's site and the Supplier will be required to provide transport to and from the operating address. Playscheme dates will match those of school holiday periods relevant to schools in Cardiff and Newport. The Supplier will be responsible for ensuring that the Playscheme complies, at all times, with at least the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare for Children up to the Age of 12 Years, and all associated legislation and regulations, issued by Welsh Government.
