Description

This Invitation to Tender is for the provision of street name plates (SNPs). The district councils' function of street naming and numbering includes the provision and maintenance of SNPs. SNPs officially mark the start and end of a street and sometimes additional plates will show the direction of numbering. SNPs are exempt from planning permission and are usually placed on the edge of the public highway. As there is not always a convenient space to install a street name plate, some are mounted on building elevations, fences, walls, railings and lampposts.
