Description

Historic England are looking for a partner with expertise in urban growing and community engagement to deliver three experimental growing schemes on three different English high streets.

This commission aims to connect people with their high streets, explore environmental issues through urban growing and develop wellbeing through connectivity, creativity and exercise.  This commission supports Historic England's public engagement work around the High Street Heritage Action Zone programme.

The main focus of the commission will be on developing 3 community growing spaces on 3 high streets. The primary outcome for participants will be wellbeing and the activity will ideally be largely socially prescribed via health and support services. These 3 projects will act as pilot schemes. The partner organisation will then create a toolkit based around learning from the three projects to allow other organisations to replicate the model across the country.
