Description

The University wishes to appoint consultants from RIBA Stage 3 to deliver a new Lecture and Seminar facility. The Stage 2 Report and concept design will be made available to the shortlisted consultants at the appropriate time.

A shortlist of consultants to be invited to tender will be established based on questionnaire responses.

The Architect will act as the Lead Consultant and Principal Designer in accordance with the requirements of the CDM 2015 Regulations and will work with other consultants including Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineers, etc.

The procurement strategy is likely to be either:
• Two Stage Design and Build
• Traditional

The new build facility will likely comprises of: Tiered seat Lecture, Seminar rooms, Central atrium, Language Laboratories, Group working rooms all established through a Time table driven brief.

The premises is aiming to achieve a Breeam Excellent rating with an indicative construction budget circa £11.5m exclusive of contingency and VAT.
