NHS England: North - Cervical Cytology Screening (including HPV testing) Laboratory Provision

Request for Information

The North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is managing this procurement process for and on behalf of NHS England - North.

The Contracting Authority wishes to commission a Cervical Cytology Screening (including HPV testing) Laboratory service; and have issued a request for information (RFI) document to further understand the capacity within the market.

NECS is utilising an electronic tendering tool to manage this market engagement and communicate with organisations who have expressed an interest. Accordingly, all communications and submissions will be conducted via the In-Tend portal, https://in-tendhost.co.uk/necs. It is free to register on the portal, which can be accessed at any time of day. A dedicated helpdesk is available should potential providers have any queries and can be contacted on 0844 2728810 (Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm) / support@in-tend.co.uk. All responses must be submitted by 12 noon on 13th April 2015.

This exercise is not part of any pre-qualification or selection process. It is intended as an awareness, communication and information gathering exercise offering an opportunity for potential providers to advise the extent of the services they are able to provide which will help inform commissioning intentions.

The contracting authority will develop the service model to incorporate the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012, specifically:

How what is proposed to be procured might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the relevant area. (Area is the geographic area for which the procurement is taking place)

How, in conducting the process of procurement, it might act with a view to securing the improvement.
