Description

The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames is committed to supporting people in fulfilling their potential. The Maximising Independence project is committed to a borough where people prosper and reach their full potential with high quality education, skills and employment. In doing so we want to ensure the right local services are available that promote independence, are responsive and flexible and informed by the local people.

The Maximising Independence project aims to increase the number of people with disabilities gaining and sustaining 'real' jobs which helps the person to meet their life goals and aspirations. People will be supported to earn equitable wages and other employment benefits, develop new skills, promote their self-determination, choice and independence in order to have enhanced self esteem and economic independence.

A review of the current day services provision available locally has identified a need to develop a more innovative and varied offer of day services in order to meet the needs of all eligible people and to incorporate the objectives of the Council.
This soft market testing activity does not constitute a call for competition to procure any services, supplies or works for the Council and the Council is not bound to accept any proposals offered. The Council is not liable for any costs, fees or expenses incurred by any party participating in the soft market testing exercise. Any procurement of any services, supplies or works by the Council in due course will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions in the UK and EU Procurement Regulations.
